A quality project that held
Dr. Sakhai created and led a hypothermia reduction committee in a pediatric anesthesiology department of more than 30 attendings. Each anesthesiologist could see their own data, the team met monthly, and participation earned continuing education credit. Postoperative hypothermia fell from 9% to 2%.
The work was published in the Journal of Clinical Outcomes Management (2021) and won third place for best poster at the 2020 ASA and Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation annual meeting.
